Skateboard deck
The Ennis Lions Club is currently fundraising to build a skatepark in the community of Ennis, Montana. I had the pleasure of designing a skate deck that will be part of a benefit auction. The money will help fund the building of this park.
I decided I wanted my deck to reflect the community of Bozeman, MT, since that is where the auction was held. I decided the subject of the deck should reflect the audience. I believed that this could make the deck more relatable and therefore draw in more money.
I began sketching designs that consisted of all the amazing things Bozeman has to offer. However, I could not narrow it down to one design. I then decided to make a collage that represented Montana. I included outdoor hobbies, the Bridger mountain range, iconic town locations, nicknames, and even town coordinates. I created this design using Photoshop and Procreate.
The coolest part of the project was visiting a local business that printed the vinyl wraps. They showed us the process. Additionally, I was able to cut out my design and mount it to the skate deck. It was amazing to see a design come to life and benefit a community.
